“Go and do the things you can’t. That is how you get to do them.” –Pablo Picasso
I think of individuals who go to the gym, put on their iPods and do Bicep and tricep curls, and do the same 3-4 day routine, day in and day out. These individuals are not fit or becoming any fitter. There is no challenge or thinking involved in what they do. They will not be any fitter 1 or 10 years from now.
Picasso nailed what we do ,right on the head.
You may have not been able to do certain movements very well or at all, when you first got here. But I bet, you can do those movements now or you are much better at them. CrossFit is not about having a 3 minute Fran time or a 500 lb Deadlift. Its about becoming a better person.

Here is a fantastic video by Dr. Barry Sears and the importance of fish oil. I purchase my fish oil at Costco. The container I purchase is under $20 and lasts me a while. Go pick up yourself a bottle today!
I am excited to share that we will be moving to a larger location very, very soon. We will most likely start moving tomorrow. Although, I do not have a definite date as to when we will start working out at the new location. We will most likely be moving the office the next 2 days and all the workout equipment over the weekend. Please keep checking the website every day to see where we’re at. Below is the address. It is 2 blocks west of our current location.
ALL WORKOUTS WILL CONTINUE AS NORMAL DURING THE MOVE!

The milk you’re drinking may not be doing your body good: Dairy products account for a reported 60 to 70 percent of the estrogens we consume through our food. If that seems like a shockingly large number, it’s mainly because milk naturally contains hormones passed along from cows. What worries some experts is that about 17% of dairy cows are treated with the hormone rBST (or rBGH), which stimulates milk production by increasing circulating levels of another hormone called insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1).
“Elevated levels of IGF-1 in people are associated with an increased risk of cancer, including breast cancer,” Dr. Schettler explains. In fact, the use of rBGH is banned in Europe and Canada. Although research has yet to definitively conclude whether drinking rBGH-treated milk increases your IGF-1 levels high enough to cause concern, Dr. Schettler says it’s advisable to buy milk that hasn’t been treated with it. So if you absolutely have to have milk in your diet, pick up milk that’s labeled rBGH-free, rBST-free, or is produced without artificial hormones.
Strawberries
Strawberries may be a superfood—but they pose a potential risk unless you go organic. In addition to having up to 13 pesticides detected on the fruit, according to an Environmental Working Group (EWG) analysis, conventional “strawberries have a large surface area and all those tiny bumps, which makes the pesticides hard to wash off, so you’re ingesting more of those chemicals,” explains Marion Nestle, PhD, a professor of nutrition and public health at New York University and author of What to Eat.
If you can, also skip conventional peaches, apples, blueberries, and cherries, which are typically treated with multiple pesticides and usually eaten skins-on.
This is so awesome! Paleo Cooking Classes. The cost is $75 and we will be learning how to prepare, clean, cook and enjoy Paleo meals. They can only accomodate about 15 people. A couple of spots have already been taken and my wife and I, will be attending….. so thats two more spots gone. The last class sold out.
Here is a description of the class.
Hunt Gather Saute 101 is an all-inclusive cooking lesson and feast. The knowledge and skills you’ll acquire will get you started efficiently making gourmet-tasting meals to improve the long-term quality of life of you and your loved ones.
You’ll be walked through the prep and making of breakfast, lunch and dinner for about 5 day’s worth of gourmet paleo food for two people — about twelve dishes. As we go along, we’ll eat the food, and I’ll answer questions.
This class will get you started by learning in the most effective way: learning through doing. You’ll get complete instruction on how to use the simple yet elegant ingredients, tools and methods you’ll use week in and week out. I’ll be teaching only the most time-efficient methods for making paleo food. This is not a class where you’ll learn to make a 25-step dish that you’ll only have time to make once a year. I will however cover a couple holiday favorites paleo-ized.
To actually get efficient at using them, they require *doing* which is up to you after the class. Along with the class itself will come some handy planning tools to help you and your family execute on cooking efficiently and nutritiously every week including a guide for cost-effective shopping in the South Bay, an index of paleo foods and tips, self-education resources, and all the recipes from that day.
“Hiding from your weaknesses is a recipe for incapacity and error. The magic is in the movement, the art is in the programming, the science is in the explanation, and the fun is in the community.”
